Royal Dinner.

were days now that Merlin had a breather.
The upcoming tournament will be played in a few days, had put the entire agitation in Camelot, first of all Arthur. The King waited
allies and opponents of the neighboring kingdoms with their mighty heirs who were the real protagonists of that challenge.
These would clash with each other in the name of their families, and would have had to show everyone their value and their pride fighting fairly and courageously.
great glory, accompanied by a large sum of money, the winner would be recognized.
Obviously the ass real Camelot could not afford to look bad in such an occasion. There was too much at stake gratitude for being able to remain indifferent.
Upon hearing the news than good news, the heir to the throne had begun his servant pushed around more than normal.
workouts had become ever tighter, and those with his men, who trains diligently every day, it seemed he had more than enough.
So Merlin was forced to having to help his master to practice constantly, and day after day.
When evening fell Accommodation includes dividing the servant for some years with Gaius, he felt his last strength in his body left permanently.
The purple bruises that decorated her skin grew worse day by day. And soon they were added to those deep scratches that sometimes had bled profusely.
Merlin knew that Arthur did not intentionally gave him that pain, but the blond did not seem to see that the frail body of his body was gradually more and more debilitating.

*** This morning the dark he woke up later than expected and without having time to put something in his teeth he immediately went into the rooms of the prince, where the latter had served up an endless list of tasks that would have to play before lunch.
He then attended the royal dining room, not without spilling the wine out of the cup of the king - and thus be warned by Uther for his lack of attention - and then run again in the halls of the fair and complete tasks that do not had concluded that morning.
He was then called by Arthur himself so that he could assist them during the slack in the early afternoon.
"Merlin you want to move? We do not have to wait all day for you. "
The dark sighed, clutching the arms swords that would have served to blonde and its riders for training, advancing rapidly toward the blond.
was the third time they change their weapons, and each time the boy was due to pick up those heavy tools in the armory, and then come back to them and supporting him in every single request.
The sun that afternoon was really intense and Merlin seemed that the rays of the sun entered directly into his body, leaving no way to breathe. He had almost reached
Arthur and his knights, when suddenly one thousand tiny fireflies of different colors to completely obscured the view.
After that nothing.

When he opened his eyes, Merlin is found in his bed.
As was done there?
out a little head to one side, and notice that did not rule out the window all night.
Nor dawn.
He tried to get up, pivoting with his elbows on the mattress, but a strong thick head prevented him from making any movement.
"Keep still."
Gaius's voice came harsh to his ears.
"Gaius?" Merlin asked, implicitly trying to explain that situation.
"You had a faint and you fainted."
the voice of the surgeon was an obvious note of concern.
"And the training?" Instinctively asked the Moor.
Arthur had failed and had to say as soon as it surely would have had the chance.
'E' was the prince to bring you here. Now try to rest a bit 'and not think about anything. "
Merlin saw the old man disappeared behind the door, let alone in his room. The dark left
drop the head on the pillow, trying to clear my head of worries.
But it was not easy. Involuntarily
had combined another of his and knew that soon would have to remedy that situation.

***

shivered from the cold that the contrast with the cold water had brought on his skin.
Merlin had rested all afternoon and dusk had already started to peep into the sky.
He wiped his body with a wet cloth and then took a clean shirt.
descended the stairs of his room to reach the room with Gaius and just when she found herself about to put the garment, the main door opened, and Arthur appeared from behind it. The prince saw the dark
stay for a few seconds in silence, taking the first eyes on him and move towards the old man who was in the room, then return to scrutinize his body. Merlin slowly lowered his eyes stand out particularly noting the purple stains on her skin clear and hastened to cover them with clean clothes, finally finishing dressing.
"It has taken over?" He asked the blonde to the surgeon, as if Merlin had not been in that room.
"More or less, Sire." He saw the heir
nod to the man's words seriously, then saw him turn toward you.
"Tonight ash pan with me and without giving him time to reply in any way, she heard him add," and it is not an invitation. "
The Moor looked quiet.
When he was sure that you understand well what Arthur had just said, curled eyebrows doubtfully.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure."
Then she saw him disappear behind the door, leaving him and Gaius to scrutinize one another, in search of an answer to what had just happened.
Why the prince wanted to have dinner with him?
not had time to finish his duties that day. Losing the good time would be beneficial not only to eat a lot of his work. Not to mention Arthur
would be even more angry with him. Maybe
but that invitation would have meant that it would have been raised from carrying out his duties for that day.
sighed heavily, fearing that this would not bring anything good.

***

was not the first time he found himself eating with Arthur.
When they used to go hunting, sometimes they had stopped in some tavern - in disguise - and had behaved like two perfect peers, enjoying the delicacies that were served on time. And those times he was not served, but to be served. Merlin had found them a pleasant moment.
But staying in that room, alone with the prince, he seemed somewhat surreal. But he had to admit that on that table were all kinds of goodness, one that could hardly be in a tavern. All
groceries that usually it was him that served to blonde. Why
Arthur had hosted that evening to dine with him? He raised
gaze to the blond and saw him inviting us to put into the pot what would have preferred. He had already started to use, and had filled his plate of meat and sausages.
He should not have to think of training instead of being there and eat all that stuff?
"The tournament is in two days, sire," he tried to point out the other dark.
"I know."
"So why are we here?" He asked again.
"For dinner?" Said a veil of irony, the heir to the throne.
Merlin poured on his plate a bit 'of hot soup. He seemed very inviting and considering that the meat had never attracted so much, he thought that he would fully satisfied his taste.
"And your evening workout?" Then tried again.
"I can well do without. I am fit enough, you do not you think? "Merlin
found himself nodding automatically to that question.
Even if he tried to argue, Arthur would surely have found a way to reshoot the thing in its favor.
"Do you hurt?"
The dark rose head shot, a spoon with the soup in the air. The
looked inquisitive.
"What?" He asked, and then bring the soup to your mouth and feel it slide down his hot throat.
"I have bruises on the body."
Ah, those.
"No," she found herself lying.
" Merlin."
He demanded the truth?
"Yes, Sir" nodded. "But the remedy of Gaius are truly miraculous," he added, trying to lighten the conversation.
had not yet learned to use his magic to be able to treat that type of injury, despite having tried several times.
It was totally unnecessary and probably the lack of physical and mental strength he had not helped at all.
"You are excused from your duties until you will be taken."
"But Arthur ... the tournament is in two days. "
" I know. "
" How to do extra training, "asked the servant insistent.
"E 'Merlin a tournament, not a battle. My life does not depend on the outcome this challenge. "
The dark one had seen him so serious a few times since he came to Camelot.
"And not yours." He felt it added.
He realized at that moment. The blond had seen the wounds he had inflicted and perhaps he felt guilty. Release from his commitment was his way to apologize. Or at least liked to be understood as Merlin.
"Thank You" nodded the servant goes back to eating quietly. The world was
inversion.
She had never thanked him so openly, except on the rare occasions in which they had saved each other's lives.
It had happened many times to see Arthur so quiet.
And most had never seen so much worry for him.

"Are you sure Essert cibato enough?" The skeptic said the heir to the throne after some time.
"Do not worry, it's okay."
was determined to bring the pieces of meat that he had not touched a Gaius. Even his mentor was very concerned for his health and what would be the perfect way to thank him for what he did for him every day. He knew that
would surely have appreciated.
He picked up the large tray on which he had neatly placed the dishes in the kitchen and send those to carry around and was about to leave when Arthur called him back to himself.
"See that you always have something substantial to eat. I do not want to see you back on the ground completely unconscious. "
" Thank you Lord. "He asserted grateful to the Moor. He saw the other
smiling slightly.
"Now go." He felt it added.
Merlin was about to open the door when he stopped just before the threshold, turning.
He wanted to tell him that he was proud of him and that no one would ever expect such a gesture on his part.
He wanted to tell him that fate finally appreciated that he had tied to Camelot and was proud to stand by his side, even when he did work hard from morning to evening.
Because in the end had what it takes to become a great king, because a good heart and brave.
But just smiled back.
"Thanks," he repeated.
Then he disappeared behind the door, heading in the kitchen.
While waiting for him two days of complete rest, in his heart he knew that he could not stay away from Prince during the tournament.
Watching those fights from the stands would have only increased his concern on the other and knew that in any case you would find in the tent of the blonde to make sure that armor - which both had struggled to understand how the prince should wear - was firmly in his body.
He knew he silently cheered his victory, when Arthur would raise his sword in triumph and he knew that he would be ready then to put up with the thousand words of arrogance and self-glorification that the blond would cheerfully to himself.
But it would go so well.
After happiness the other was his. And that day she understood to be worth something to the prince.
smiled to himself as he walked down the long corridors of the castle.
The road to accompany the blonde to the throne would probably still very long and many were his duties.
But now, with new certainty that he knew that everything would be different.
